How to Create the Perfect Christmas Bedroom.

Studies show that we spend a third of our lives in our bedroom. When putting that into perspective, it’s a lot of time to spend cooped up in one place. In the last two decades, there has been an emphasis on ensuring that your bedroom is a peaceful sanctuary, and a space that makes you feel welcome and inviting. And while we may have a specific or theme that we have incorporated into our homes, perhaps a rustic theme, contemporary, or glamourous niche to our bedroom design- why not switch it up over the festive period and implement a festive decorative theme to your bedroom. There is an immediate cosy, winter feel when you begin to decorate your house, so why not extent this festive display to your bedroom? It doesn’t have to be an expensive, major project, so here at We Buy Any House, we have compiled out top tips to help you create the ultimate festive bedroom- so that every morning when you wake up, you will feel festive the moment you open your eyes and truly get into the swing of Christmas.

Scatter Around LED Candles:

Real candles in the bedroom (or any exposed flame) are a hazard- so it’s probably not a good idea to put them in your bedroom where there are lots of flammable things. Instead, using LED pillar candles, or string lights are a great way to kick off the perfect Christmas bedroom. The warm glow will give off a cosy and warm vibe- the epitome of Christmas.

Change to Classic Holiday Bedding:

Throughout the rest of the year, we tend to have the same bedding old bedding that is probably neutral themed, and ties in with the everyday décor of your bedroom. As the holiday season approaches, why not upgrade your bedding to something that is a little more Christmassy? Faux fur throws, red tartan or cushion presents propped at the end of the bed will instantly give your home a cosy and inviting feel.

Bring in the Outdoors:

Nowadays, its commonplace to have plants scattered around your home as decorative features. The trend of ensuring you have plants inside your home began in lockdown- as most of us were sick of not having any exposure to the outside world. A great way to add festive decoration into your room is to enhance the space with winter plants and trees- such as holly, pine and berries.

Add Classic Decorations:

If you can, why not go all out and put a tree in your room?! It doesn’t have to be a huge one, just something that is small and make the space feel festive. It would be a Christmassy nod to the traditional decorations, and you can personalise it by adding your own baubles! Alternatively, if the space isn’t big enough- why not get creative and set up a string light tree- it’s the perfect bedroom decoration.

Incorporate a Festive Smell:

If you ask somebody what is a Christmas scent- they’d immediately say apple, cinnamon or gingerbread. If you want your bedroom to be a peaceful Christmas sanctuary- then make the room smell like Christmas. Add in an air freshener or reed diffuser in order to make your bedroom instantly feel festive the moment you walk through the door.
